Setelah “National Biotech Policy” (NBP) dilancarkan dengan rasminya oleh YAB Perdana Menteri Tun Abdullah Badawi pada tahun 2005 maka bermulalah satu era pemecutan yang hebat ke arah merealisasikan matlamat negara untuk menjadi salah satu pemain industri yang ulung di dalam bidang bioteknologi. Antara matlamat yang terpapar jelas di dalam dokumen NBP ialah Malaysia akan mempunyai sekurang-kurangya 20 “pemain global” di dalam sektor teknologi ini pada tahun 2020.

This pandemic has brought the world to its knees and forced leaders, societies, organisations, institutions and entire nations to change the way they work to ensure the cogs continue to move despite the dangers that loom. 

World Refugees Day on June 20 was for all practical purposes a non-event in Malaysia. There were no events to mark it, no speech from national leaders, and the local media seems to have missed it or ignored it. Malaysia’s stance towards refugees is difficult to understand. It seems to be swinging like a pendulum.
